Introduction to Animation and Game Design

Have you ever wondered how video games and animations are made? In this course students will use Scratch, a graphical programming environment from MIT, to make interactive stories, animations, and even their own games. Students will gain an understanding of the basics of computer programming while having fun! This is a beginner to intermediate level course. Register

Ages: For Students ages 8-14
Cost: $185 for full YMCA members, $195 for program YMCA members, and $215 for non-members for each 5 week course
Web Design

Designing your own website is a great way to express yourself and share your interests with others. This course will teach students how to create websites with HTML and CSS. Students will also learn basic image editing to touch up photos and design graphics for their sites. This is a beginner to intermediate level course. Register

Digital Art and Game Design

Are you interested in making animations, interactive stories, digital art, or video games? In this course students will use Scratch, a graphical programming environment from MIT, to bring their creations to life! They will design animated characters and backgrounds, incorporate sounds and music, and learn about digital storytelling and video game design. In the process they will develop valuable skills and gain an understanding of the basics of computer programming. This is a beginner to intermediate level course. Register
